Lacan: In chapter nine of Ecclesiastes, verse 9, he says all is vanity no doubt. It's a passage Lacan's mentioned before in previous lectures on anxiety and the void at the center of your being. "There is no neighbor, if not this very hollow in you," writes Lacan.
