I don't think there is any inherent justification or external justification for our uniqueness, apart from the importance that we grant it. We need a story of ourselves that affirms our deepest values and distinguishes us from the machines that are like rapidly surpassing us. And I see this in a lot of conversations, you know, particularly around ecology and environmentalism to try to see the universe more as a whole. To me, there's something a little bit heuristic though about thinking that we can transcend our human perspective also,. That we can inhabit this Archimedean point or that we can see ourselves through the lens of the universe.
