The Importance of Political Economy in Psychoanalysis
A lot of 20th century leftism is trying to marry political economy with libidinal economy. It involves both like ignoring what's obvious about political economy and ignoring the obvious role of libidinalEconomy at the same time. The idea of legitimacy has been fictionalized into behaving as though it were a political economic term. We could probably code a really stupid discussions of fascism in a similar way where we actually say that if you have this person who says they're not racist or sexist then those things are going to hit critical levels right?
