"I bought a place at Mermaid Beach on the water in 1990 for 500,000 bucks fixed rate loan of 15%. Sold that a few years ago for 867,000. That money in the index would have been worth $9 million," he says. "You cannot add value to an apartment. You can't do it. No way you do it."
