In the book, there's this great line where you say, you know, you fight the war with guns. And yet in this country, we still to this day have far more monuments to the perpetrators of slavery than we do its victims. We have billboards that say secede. We have the stories of violent insurrection baked into the system. I think one of the most dangerous things about the moment that this country is in right now is that you have a significant portion of the population firmly of the belief that whatever they want to be true is more important than what is actually true. If you had a chance to go where it's safe, wouldn't you?
