Yvonne Ileic, as one in whose sphere the matter did not lie, would have nothing to do with him. But if the man had some business with him in his official capacity, something that could be expressed on officially stamped paper, he would do everything within the limits of such relations. He was tired, but with the feelings of a virtuoso, one of the first violins who has played his part in an orchestra with precision. After dinner, if they had no visitors, Yvonne ILeic sometimes read a book that was being much discussed at the time and in the evening settled down to work.
