The Public Domain
A lot of works that are in the public domain now can be built upon. Sherlock holmes went into the public domain, i think, like ten or 20 years ago and se saw this explosion of sherlock holmes movies and t v shows. Even if the underlying assets are public domain and c c zero, if someone creates something on top of it, the new creation is not so that you can still hold intellectual property rights.
