The Expansion of the Sea Ice Cup

There are suggestions that large parts of the oceans of East Antarctica are actually getting fresher. The fact that it's expanding, that sounds counterintuitive when we talk about the polar ice caps melting as a result of global warming. We have seen an amazing diversity of life here - Deli penguins, Weddle seals and crab eater seals. An orca came right to the edge of the sea ice which was absolutely astounding. Chris Turney announced on Twitter that they had indeed reached Morson's hut.
