Drew Barrymore appeared on the Drew Barrymore show to talk about her early years with Steven Spielberg. E.T. not only marked the real beginning of Drew's acting career, it also marks the beginning of an incredibly important relationship in Drew's life. The film was originally inspired by Steven's own experience as a child who created an imaginary alien friend to keep him company during his parents' divorce. He went on to become her godfather and really served as a father figure to Drew during her early years.
