If you read the film in this way, it's not such a simple film as it is sometimes dismissed. You encounter an incredible amount of wonderful ambiguities. For example, how perversely Hinkle, Hitler's figure, relates to speech. And clapping plays wonderfully on a total gap, non-correspondence between his dictation and what happens.
