The History of Gifting
Gifts were once revered. We once gave items that were useful. But in the case of goodie bags, in particular, I'm still confused as to why it's commonplace to give gifts to kids who aren't the birthday child on a different child's birthday. Are we thanking them for coming to the party? Do they need to be thanked for their attendance? Isn't the party, isn't the experience, isn’t the fun experience? The thank you?
