The Importance of Baptizing a Child in Distress
The pope allowed anybody to baptize a child in distress. Midwives who were delivering and delivered stillborn would pretend that the baby was alive long enough that they could baptize it. Parents also went to specific churches to ask for their children to be brought back to life. They asked for these miracles in certain places where they believed this would happen.
