Is the Activity of the Intellect Immaterial?
What does it mean to say that the intellect is intrinsically immaterial if it's tied to the body, even to such an extent that it needs phantasms to be supplied in heaven? Let me try to think about how to answer this question. What would it help if I just said the activity of the intellect is irreducible to all the powers and acts of the body? Sometimes just phrasing it that way might make it clear that it cannot be reduced to them. The soul itself means the soul has distinct from the body that it carries out.
