The Importance of Pursuing Goods
Aquinas says nature puts such an intense pleasure to those just to make them easy to pursue. So that we don't have to think about them, that we pursue these goods and we make sure that we maintain ourselves in existence simply for the mere pleasure of sex. And so as we move up in this chain of goods, we realize that in satisfaction, or at least the kind of basic satisfaction of our own social and political goodness or nature, we find the common good family to be the first of these social goods that we begin to enjoy.
