The Importance of a Critical Appraisal in Urban Service

Simon: I would definitely encourage anyone who regularly assesses dramatically injured patients to go and have a read of this because there are some eye-opening statistics in here. The paper only looks at a very specific group of patients with regard to clinical signs and symptoms i.e. those with major traumatic injuries. This goes to highlight how difficult an unreliable clinical examination can be particularly in this group of patients  who are having a critical care response. It's really interesting that they comment on the association between multiple injuries uncertainty and the patient would shock with more likelihood of missed injuries. They believe this might relate to human factors and the increased effort from sort of this task complexity which in turn might constrain
