The Rise of the Military Chaplain in Ukraine

Ukrainian clergy were very active on the Maidan they called themselves at that time chaplains of the Maidan. They quickly then became a really a strong core of military chaplains who worked in Eastern Ukraine from 2014 onwards. So you have then this, that's why I called it an atmosphere of religiosity as opposed to an atmosphere of orthodoxy per se. It's because it triggers this kind of everyday religiosity that finds expression in very often improvised personalized practices which is what makes it meaningful.
