The first iteration of this story was not even really a short story. It's presented as a brochur, a non fiction work called the institute of chaos studies. And you would have first seen it in a magazine called edge detector which i just realize now is supposed to be an edge name. He detects the edge, and then he kind of edges up against the edge, but he never really quite exceeds it.
