The American Medical Association and Its Leaders Are Pro-Markets
A lot of people have assumed that physicians are pro-markets. The American Medical Association was against direct primary care practices in the 30s and 40s. They were opposed to prepaid physician groups because they paid monthly payment. Today, doctors pretty much work for the insurance companies.
