Train Up a Child and the Way He Should Go When He's Young
The pattern in scripture is that when the proverb says sometimes we do this thing with the proverbs where we're like, it says train up the child and the way he should go when he's old. Well, we know that that's a proverb, not a promise. It would certainly be an error to take that passage and say, what it really means is train up a child in the way that he should go. But we have lots of evidence for the younger child. So I guess what I'm trying to say is we should probably err on the side of absolutely.
