A childcare study that we all hear about a lot and I think it's sort of become a part of kind of the pop culture zeitgeist around behavioral science. In this study essentially the researchers were interested in working with childcare centers in order to reduce the number of parents who are showing up late to collect their children. What they decided to try was a disincentive so they wanted to include a fine but what they found was that with the introduction of the fine the number ofParents who were showing up late actually increased.
