Magic in a Fantasy World

In liza goldstein's, the book is called summer king, winterfool. There is a ceremony that everybody gathers us to make the sun turn back on the salstice. We are used to seeing magico religious ceremonies in fantasy with wizards and kings. But when we see the ceremony go wrong and the days continue getting shorter, that it's really quite a different level of thing. And i wish there were more things that did things like that, because you can, in fantasy, you you've got the whole universe there. You can figure out how it works. People very, very often don't.
