George Saunders has been teaching a class in the 19th century Russian short story and translation at Syracuse University for 20 years. This is his masterclass in book form. It does feel very much like you're sitting in on the college seminar. Dan: I think it's really fascinating that the method he's using to do this is look at some very old Russian short stories. He chose different authors because you could kind of jump around and see the different similarities and differences between them.
