The Government Did Something That Should Make You Smile
The government issued ration books, inside of which there were ration stamps. This was a way to avoid the inflation that could have happened if you allowed the market to let rich people bid up the price of scarce consumer goods. But i'm still nocked on here's another example. In every one of the 50 states in this country, we've set up commissions. They're called utility commissions and they say utilities can't raise their prices unless part of the government says it's ok. You know what that is? That's an attempt to stop an inflation. And it works. The same thing happens with insurance premiums. Every one of the50 states has an insurance commission.
