The Importance of Moral Standards in History
Homer's "Achilles And The Satyrs" is one of the most famous works of ancient Greek literature. In it, a character sulks in his tent because he didn't get the best slave girl. A modern Western reader would read this as a tragedy and root for him to triumph. But thousands of years ago, Homer believed that Achilles was morally good enough to sulk without fighting.
