How Much Was Put Into the Higgs Boson?

How do you evaluate from a capital allocation point of view which scientific projects deserve funding. how much was put into like let's say finding the Higgs boson then I don't know a lot of money  I imagine it would be millions but yeah two hours I'm not sure and so as this ecosystem has some sort of evolutionary processes they will hopefully be filled at some point. There are still certain things that are either too risky to do or hard to get funded, says Lux.
