How to Give Hard Feedback to a Leader
The tone of which you deliver feedback is exactly how I would want to hear feedback given to me if a person doesn't want to give it and they feel nervous about it. The other thing that I often really encourage people that I work with when they have to give some hard feedback to a leader is I'll say to them like, give yourself permission to say it the first time in a clumsy way and then ask permission to says it in a clumsy ways. Sometimes we assume we have to deliver the feedback in a way that's really articulate and really clear. And sometimes it's not too harsh, but just right.
