The Little England by Robert Montfahne

The novel celebrates English, myth and countryside without seeming a tall little Englandy. It's very international, which is something you emphasized from the start in this version of the book. The myths that are being evoked are myths, like most myth, lie under so many different cultures. And so we get a sense of the land being older than the culture, which now superficially sits on top of it.
