The Promise of the Gospel in Genesis 3.15

There is immediate hostility between the righteous offspring of Eve and those who are unrighteous in the Genesis narrative. There's going to be one who arises, who will bruise or crush the serpent's head while the serpent strikes at his heel. And it seems to be pointing forward to something in the future. I was thinking of the promise that was made to David and the Davidic covenant concerning his son.
