Sulphur dioxide and phosphine are very similar absorbent wave lentsor when you look at them through telescopes, they look kind of similar. But now researchers have re examined that data, and it looks like it may have just been processed incorrectly from the observatory. It could be that some of the data just wasn't processed properly, and that's what led to this result. And the researchers who have looked at it in this latest work have suggested that all signs point to sulphur dioxide, which is quite common in venus's atmosphere. So wouldn't be a sign of life.
