Virginia's Succession Convention Acts Illegally

John Carlisle has been the most vocal supporter of this idea. While it is a majority, there are 19,000 voters in what becomes West Virginia who want to secede. The main Virginia government aware of this meeting and what were their thoughts about it? There was nothing they could do about it.
