The Battle of Meledus

At the end of 496, and during 495 BC, we see very little movement on all fronts. Both sides began gearing up for what would be their final showdown. By 494 BC, the Persian forces had regrouped, and were gathered into one army. Persian army made their way straight for the epicenter of the rebellion, that being Meledus. The Ionians met at the Panionium, and decided not to attempt to fight them on land. They instead opted to leave the Melisians to defend their walls,. While they gathered every ship they could, and made their way for the island of Lade in order to fight from Meledus at sea
