The Importance of Identity Verification in Games

As games are moving away from in-app purchases and more towards taxing user generated content, identity verification feels like it. I see the appeal of making a free to play game with no barriers of entry. But once you truly start to enjoy a game, if your experience is just get worse and worse by people cheating for whatever mental health reasons they do that, there's got to be a way around it.
