Gravitational microlensing is a particularly powerful probe for dark matter, as well as looking at things. It's so sensitive that you see these warppings of the brightening of the background star that tells you there's a planet. You can't just tweak the knobs and then explain away some. So it's a very clean test bed. Like the lens shows what it shows. Yeah.
