Director john mc ternan talks in, in the director's commentary on this, about how, if you've read the book that this is based on, the germans are just, they're just terrorists. He said one of the major changes they wanted to make for the movie is that the terrorism angle is a little bit of a ropodope that they present as terrorists to cover up the fact that they're stealing these bearer bonds.
