I was working on re-implementing all of graphite in go because we had an enormous graphite stack and the Python implementation was falling over. I started small by doing that and finding you know small services and it turned out that at a certain level of requests the pearl one was not holding up. "The service that I built that I think really changed minds a little bit more was not actually a piece of infrastructure that was written in Pearl," he says.
