I'm a Little Less Mystified by the Lack of Political Salience on Life Expectancy

i'm less mystified by the lack of life expectancy candidates and like politicians making it a high priority issue, both because elected politicians aren't known for taking things that their constituents weren't voicing to them as problems. There's no political upside to saying, we are going to moderately ameliorate this very complicated problem. I think that a politics of life expectancy in practice would probably look something like the elete conservative deaths of despair in narrative.
