The Importance of Inequality

I don't know if my intuition is shared by most people, but I think it would be more important to help Bob who has a severe disability than to help Anne. Almost everyone who's been asked questions of this kind thinks we should give the gain to the less well off person and not both. If you believe this, it doesn't follow that you believe that inequality is bad in and of itself. That somehow it's good in any respect if she gets worse off just as badly off as Bob. So I would probably help Bob.
