The Importance of History in Design Schools
I think the mistake we tend to make is we jump on what's trendy and cool. I would say design schools are almost going to have to go to a five year plan just to get everything in because it's so diverse, he says. He was surprised at how different they consume design in the world from his own students. They're seeing design on Instagram and on Pinterest and often don't know the names of designers or where this stuff comes from. But part of me is also interesting that they're seeing design this way and they're just kind of taking from all sorts of different things.
