What Happens to the Energy of the Red-Shifted Photons?
The red shift of the universe only happens on very large scales. When we're talking about Vega or other stars within our own galaxy that we're seeing, they are not being red-shifted away from us because of the expansion of the universe. It's light from very distant galaxies that are being red- shifted from the expansion ofthe universe.
