The Role of the Familiar Spirit in Relationships

The Archangel Raphael is a spirit that I've conjured many times both in public conjurations for groups as well as in my own private work. He's also a spirit where I don't necessarily have to go through a whole large conoration in order to interact with him. If I am working with the familiar, then it may be I get out of bed and turn to the altar in my room and talk to the familiar. But that's not the same as having a familiar spirit. It's a very different relationship. As far as work that's better suited to one or the other, I think different magicians are going to have different perspectives on that.
