The Presentation of God

Moses reminded the Lord and in here in the text, it says that the Lord relented. So does this mean that Moses persuaded the Lord to change his mind? What's going on there at a theological level? I think this is one of those places where we have to acknowledge that the narrative and the presentation of God is being accommodated to our humanity. We're being given an analogical and yet true presentation of how things went.
