What's the Point of a General Purpose Solution?

The point of the representation is to formulate a picture of what it is that's the threat, so that you can then formulate a general purpose solution. So there's this image of kally, which i really like, cause kally is sort of the goddess of the darkness, let's say, ind destruction. And so she's a monster, in some sense, that represents everything that might terrify and devour you. You come up with that representation as an image to represent the class of all terrifying things, and then you have to generate a solution in the face of that class.
