What Is the Job of a Writer?

i used to talk about being a alchemist versus a prospector. I kept it in the book, despite a concerted effort by james not to do it. He dug up an old email in which he very passionately and persuasively argued that i should cut this from the book. So here's my 14 steps that i think apply to almost every story. es dont aply t po fiction. Bcause this po fiction is not a story about the solving of a large problem but almost every story is.
