The Ruler of China, a Hongso Tan
Hai: The one of the key points to make about hong's rule is how double standarded. It was, in fact, a on the one hand, an intensely puritanical philosophy that made very, very harsh demands on its subjects. In his palace, he has no men at all; it's entirely peopled by female officials and female servantss. He surrounds himself with an enormous harim so again, another double stamps o, a double sexual standard there. Hai: But actually we're getting on with being building up a big army and taking big cities and moving forward.
