The Paranoid Right and the New Conservative Movement

CNN's John Sutter says he doesn't know whether there was a panoply of hilarious conservatives in the past. He thinks cruelty has become the point and humor for it really to work has to be punching against the status quo. The other element that I think precludes humor in the new conservative movement is a rigidity and a doubling down of kind of hyper masculinity, writes Sutter.
