Is There Still Room for Metaphor?
Van till: I think metaphor relies on analogy, right? There has to be some similarity between a lion, let's say, his fierceness, or his bravery, or his power. And that's why the statement that jesus is elion of the tribe of judah, that's why works. It invites us to go out and say, well, now, how is the lion like the lord jesus christ? Well, it's, it's like and unlike, right? So metaphors, i think, are an example of one kind of analogy.
