The Cross Is Coming Into His Kingdom

Matthew's account shows that when Gentiles are speaking to Jesus, they call him king of the Jews. And it wasn't uncommon for them to have some kind of indicator of what the charge of the executed person was here. We read that two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. The kingdom in Matthew is associated with suffering and death.
