The Importance of Assimilation in the UK
10% of French population was born outside France, 20% in Germany. In the UK, it's 17%. And in the US, it's something like 15%. So, and at least in the US,. these are close to historic levels. Close to what it was in the 1890s when migration as a percentage of the population was enormous. The UK has done a phenomenal job culturally in assimilating people into British culture. I think the UK is richer and better for it.
