What Is Double Counting?
i covered a few meta analyses in 20 20. To me, 20 20 was the year of the meta analysis for my mass writing. There were some pretty straightforward choice is made in the analysis that i felt kind of undermined the results. Double counting is when you're using multiple outcomes from the same individual and therefore giving those individuals more influence on the metoanalysis than they should otherwise. Not accounting for the effects of time. Treating standard errors as if their standard deviations, and vice versa. And that can have a remarkably huge impact on the effect sizes that you see in the study.
