The Old Covenant and the New Covenant
In Galatians 4 verse 30, Paul says get rid of the slave woman and her son. The old covenant bears children who are slaves; it corresponds to earthly man-made Jerusalem. In contrast, in the same passages, Paul says this about the new covenant: "The new covenant is of the heavenly new Jerusalem that comes from God" So I hope this is good news. What it's telling us is the old covenant brought sin and death. But it was only through Christ that grace and truth came. And now we are under a new covenant.
